Mt Buller — Victoria's Alpine Resort
Mt Buller is Victoria's most popular ski resort and the closest major alpine destination to Hollams Horizon. In winter it transforms into a world-class skiing and snowboarding destination with a full village, lifts, ski schools, and all the apres-ski warmth you could want.
In summer and autumn, the mountain offers incredible walking trails, mountain biking, and views that stretch across the entire High Country. The chairlift runs year-round for those who prefer the scenic route to the summit.
Mt Stirling — Wild Alpine Country
Adjacent to Mt Buller but offering a completely different experience, Mt Stirling is an alpine reserve with no ski lifts and no village — just pristine wilderness. In winter it is a paradise for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In summer, it offers some of the most spectacular alpine walks in Victoria.
Snow gum forests, wildflower meadows, and 360-degree summit views make Mt Stirling a highlight of any visit to the region — and a place that rewards those who take the time to explore it.
Lake Eildon — Victoria's Inland Sea
Lake Eildon is one of Victoria's largest reservoirs and a major attraction in its own right. With over 500km of shoreline, it is a playground for boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking, and swimming throughout the warmer months.
From Hollams Horizon's elevated position, Lake Eildon forms a constant and breathtaking backdrop — its waters shimmering through the day and glowing gold at sunset. Boat hire, houseboats, and fishing charters are all easily accessible from nearby marinas.
